Now, when you add the Xtreme Legends expansion, you get to spice things up a bit. The gameplay has improved just a bit, but sadly it still gets a little repetitive. Get the objectives done and make sure to surviveĭynasty Warriors 5 is a solid game for the franchise, while the evolution in the graphics isn't too notable, they are still great. This is a survival mode where your abilities will be tested to the limits, no checkpoints, and no time to rest. Complete certain tasks and wield supercharged versions of your favorite weapons from the original game, decimate your enemies with an awesome arsenal of new weapons, including the Dragon Spear, Podao, Orb and Scepter.
YOu can choose out of three generals or create your own, and then you're thrown into the battlefield. Dynasty Warriors 7: Xtreme Legends brings back Pang De, and introduces you to new characters such as Guo Jia and Wang Yi. These missions can get really tough, but they are super addictive and force you to take your game to the next level.īut speaking of tough missions, there's also the Xtreme mode, that will take the musou experience and make it more, as the name implies, extreme. These are extra missions that leave the main argument and plot of the game behind and opt for an alternate story. This allows us to choose not of the 48 generals available in the game and fulfill missions on of the eighteen new levels added into the game. The additions in Dynasty Warriors 5 Xtreme Legends include the same Legend mode we've seen in the past Xtreme Legends version of Dynasty Warriors 4.

It's a mechanic the successor games in the series would keep using, thus expanding each of the character's stories more and more. And of course, it also helps to make this one different from past titles. This helps to diversify the story, the narrative, and the general way in which the game progresses. This time we get to explore deeper into each of the main characters' sides of the story in depth. As we finish the main story with different characters and armies, more stories will unlock, and all these extra characters get their turn into the musou battlefield. Base gameĭynasty Warriors 5 includes 48 characters from which you’re only getting about 15 to start off the story while the rest of them will be progressively unlocked. Keep in mind that games like Samurai Warrior were released just a year before, so Dynasty Warriors had to do something new here to survive. And to do this we'll also talk about the basic version of the game to put you in context.

Their Dynasty Warriors franchise quickly rose to success to the point where they released about 4 games in just a couple of years. Koei used to be one of the biggest game developers in all Japan and one of the most successful ones too.
